Small Group Instruction

In order to assist children at their instructional level, kindergarten has time designated for small group instruction.  During small group instruction, children with similar reading behaviors will read books in small groups with a teacher’s support.  Lessons are designed to reinforce key components of our Language Arts curriculum. Decodable Readers and Leveled Readers will reinforce the reading concepts taught in each unit.  The books are designed to enable children to focus on print and reading from left to right, while gradually improving word recognition, decoding, and comprehension skills. Children with similar reading behaviors will read books in small groups with a teacher’s support.
